  • HOTELS: USD partners with several hotels that offer a preferred discount of 15% off the best available rate. Many of these hotels are within 1-2 miles of campus, which is a nice walk or a short cab ride or a hotel shuttle ride where available. Participants in the EDJE conference can select this preferred rate at all of the partner hotels as a “friend of USD.” The USD website has more information, including the list of hotels and booking instructions.

  • GROUND TRANSPORTATION: The USD website has information on driving directions, and the downloadable and interactive campus maps have information on parking (see more info below).

  • PARKING: USD provided us this tailored information on parking for our conference:

    • On Thursday, August 10, and Friday, August 11, you will park at the West Parking Structure near the West entrance off of Marian Way and Linda Vista Rd. You will see an entrance kiosk and can also ask for directions there. After paying and parking, you will take the tram for the West Campus Loop to go to Mother Rosalie Hill Hall building, where the EDJE conference will take place. Trams arrive at the stops approximately every 15 minutes (tram service is not available on Saturday).

    • On Saturday, August 12, you will park at G2:Mother Rosalie Hill Hall Garage, (the underground parking garage). Enter campus through the West Entrance (Marian Way). You will see an entrance kiosk and can also ask for directions there. From the West Entrance, follow the road (Marian Way) to the four-way stop sign. Make a left onto Manion Way. Make your next left onto Camino Way. At the end of Camino Way, make the next left into the G2:Mother Rosalie Hill Hall, underground parking garage. After entering the G2:Mother Rosalie Hill Hall Garage, continue driving straight to the front of the building to park in any white-lined space. From the parking, take the elevator and go to the first floor, make a right, and immediately after, make a right onto the Foyer reception, where you will do your check-in and pick your nametag. If our garage is full, you can park in any white-lined space that's available on the street around the Mother Rosalie Hill Hall building or in adjacent lots.

    • Parking Rates: Parking e-permits are required between 7:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, including vehicles displaying an ADA placard. The rates for parking in metered areas are $2.50 per hour and $18.00 for the full day.

      • All paid parking areas at USD operate as pay-by-plate. This means that a license plate number is required when making a payment at the pay station. Be sure to note your license plate prior to approaching a pay station. It may be helpful to take a picture of your license plate with your smartphone. You will need as well the vehicle's State of origin. Once you have made your payment, there is no need to display your receipt on your dashboard.

      • Upon approaching the pay station, push “Start” on the keypad if the screen is black, which will bring up the home screen.

      • Enter the number of parking hours that you want to pay.

      • The expiration time will be displayed, and the transaction will be complete. A receipt will be printed for your reference; remember that there is no need to place anything on the vehicle’s dashboard. The car information that you provided will be entered into our centralized parking system, and your license plate number will verify your parking permit, so please make sure to write the correct license plate.

    • To Pay By Plate from your phone:

      • Payment at all metered space locations above may also be made from your smartphone. Simply download the Parkmobile App on the Apple Store or Google Play Store. If you decide to use Parkmobile to pay, you will need the zone number. West Parking Structure is Zone 1901.
